Happy Christmas!

We get our Christmas holidays today! We would like to wish our families and our friends a very happy Christmas, and a happy and healthy New Year. See you all in 2016!

Carols for St Vincent de Paul

On Monday, the senior classes went to the post office to sing Christmas carols, to collect money for charity. 3rd and 4th classes sang from 11.15 to 12.30. It was hard work! Lots of our parents came to see us, and we loved having the support. 5th and 6th classes sang after us. In total, we raised just over 1000 euro for St Vincent de Paul!!!! Thank you to everyone who put money into our buckets, it will help give needy people a better Christmas.

Musical: Ye Ha!

The St Clare's musical, Ye Ha, was performed in the school hall for the older classes on Friday 11th December. It was fabulous! Pupils from 5th and 6th classes took part. Next year it will be our turn to take part in the musical, and we can't wait.

On December 8th we went to mass in the Cathedral. It was the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. This is when we remember how Mary learned that she was to be the Mother of Jesus.

A Tale of Two Storeys

On Thursday last we went to the Town Hall to see the play "A Tale of Two Storeys". It was the story of the people who lived in a block of flats. Four actors played all the parts. It was fabulous and we really enjoyed it.
We love the theatre!

Arts and Science Project: Workshop 2

Today Heather Brett and Marilyn Gaffney came in to us again, to continue our workshops. We examined our nature walk worksheets, and came up with some clever descriptions based on what we had seen. Next we did more leaf rubbings, this time on tin foil, and drew leaf outlines with the shapes of insects and creatures inside.
